HENDRICKS COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Video Production & Photography | Virtual Tour

ABOUT

The Hendricks County Historical Museum is a historical jail and former sheriff’s residence built in 1866-1867. The building became the Museum in 1974, and houses artifacts dating back to 1866. Featuring three floors of rooms including two bedrooms, two kitchens, and the former jail, the Museum lets visitors discover the history of Hendricks County.

Due to the building’s stairs and layout, part of the Museum is unaccessible to those with mobility issues. ASH and the Museum staff wanted to create a virtual tour to allow everyone to go through the rooms. The tour could also be used in classrooms as an educational tool.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
& PHOTOGRAPHY

ASH worked with the Hendricks County Historical Museum’s staff and volunteers to film videos in each room that describe its history. ASH also took photos of various important artifacts to draw attention to them.

VIRTUAL TOUR

ASH created a virtual tour for the Museum that allows users to travel through the floors and visit different rooms. The videos and photos were added to the tour to give background on the rooms.

Two versions of the tour were created: a desktop tour and a mobile-friendly tour, so users can go through the tour wherever they are.
